Environmental Health and Safety Regional Manager USA

We’re looking for an exceptional candidate to collaborate in the development of and directly responsible for driving and implementing Spirax Sarco’s global EHS framework within the North America region. Responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and practices to identify and mitigate hazardous conditions within the manufacturing workplace and the field sales and services environment.

Some Responsibilities Include:

  • Ownership and accountability for Strategy and Policy implementation and execution of operational direction for short-term and mid-term results (1-3 years).
  • Identifying and leading the elimination of potential workplace hazards, practices, conditions and environmental factors.
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures to eliminate or mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace and assisting managers and staff to manage EHS effectively in their businesses.
  • Conduct hazard assessments and provide mitigation guidance in accordance with established business practices.
  • Assisting with investigations into all accidents, environmental incidents, and near-misses, ensuring root-cause analysis is completed and corrective actions identified and closed.
  • Lead and engage the workforce and leaders in the various EHS programs, while driving towards zero accidents and environmental incidents.
  • Participate and lead the cross business audit for the region.
  • Coordinate regional risk assessments with local and remote facilities teams; recommend corrective actions and assist the relevant management to achieve closure.
  • Driving the implementation of the various EHS Group programs, delivering the strategy at site manufacturing and throughout Sales companies within the region.
  • Providing advice and training on safety protocols and conducting audits to ensure compliance with organization and government standards.
  • Providing mentoring, coaching, training and support to Manufacturing and Sales companies, driving continuous improvement and aiming for EHS excellence.

The successful candidate ideally to have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Safety & Environmental Health or a related field and a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred. Minimum of 7 years of hands on experience in evaluating, reducing, and communicating safety risks, experience interacting at various levels directly in a manufacturing environment and with field based employees. Experience in developing and implementing Environmental Health and Safety programs, procedures, associated training, guidance documents, and job aids. Experience leading and managing large change programs a must.
