We're looking for an exceptional candidate to be responsible for maintaining strategic company relationships with suppliers in both direct manufacturing operations and indirect supply needs. This role will help ensure that vendors provide quality materials and have the ability to respond quickly to changing supply requirements.

Some Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain strategic sourcing work to mitigate risk and optimize the value/resilience of materials/services sourcing including business continuity plans.
  • Assist in the development forecasts for future demand and place orders in a timely fashion based upon vendor lead-time.
  • Utilize the supplier management program with key suppliers including metrics, performance goals and improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate supplier integration plans with internal clients.
  • Monitor market dynamics that impact materials/services availability and/or pricing.
  • Partner with internal clients to identify sourcing needs, identify marketplace trends, and define acceptable service levels.
  • Lead or participate in Lean Kaizen or Six Sigma projects.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to identify and resolve difficult to moderately complex problems.
  • Ability and willingness to face challenges, solve problems, and motivate others, while maintaining effective relationships with customers by meeting or exceeding their requirements and expectations.
  • Ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and ability to communicate and influence senior leadership.
  • Ability to assist with multiple projects simultaneously and perform in sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and record keeping skills.
  • Solid customer support skills.

Ability to assist with conflicting demands where there are potentially serious individual and business outcomes.

Candidates for this position should possess a Bachelor’s Degree Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years experience in contract negotiations and direct purchasing work, implementing strategic purchasing plans in a manufacturing environment. Masters Degree and Six-Sigma Black/Green Belt preferred.
