We'll help find the right solution for you

Our expertise extends to the recovery of energy from waste. With our deep knowledge and experience we can help you design an efficient, stable and safe recovery process system.

We can help manage any of your steam projects, large or small, from designing bespoke solutions to providing maintenance and aftercare support.

We have an international reputation for steam system training and can offer a range of onsite or offsite tailored packages. Over a dozen courses cover all aspects of the steam system and are approved by BTEC, CIBSE and the CEA.

Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT)

Process

MBT plants vary in their design: Mechanical means sorting the waste pieces. Biological means either drying the waste so it can be burnt to generate energy as a Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) or composting the organic part of the waste to produce compost like material.

What we can offer

We have the knowledge and products to support you in producing dry waste that meets current standards.

Feedwater treatment and storage
Control valves
Chemical dosing equipment
Heat exchangers and steam ancillary equipment
Water system isolation valves check valves and air eliminators

Energy From Waste

Process

This type of facility combusts waste in a controlled environment to generate energy, in the form of electricity and or heat.

What we can offer

To capture heat from the high or low pressure side of the process, we can provide:

Feedwater treatment and storage systems
Chemical dosing
Pressure and temperature control systems
Desuperheaters
Heat exchangers
Steam ancillary equipment
Service agreements
Training

Autoclaves and Thermal Hydrolysis

Process

Autoclaving involves the soaking of the waste with steam in a sealed pressurised environment to sterilise the waste. After steaming, the recyclables (plastics and metals) are removed. The resulting primary output is a fibrous floc material, which can be used as a Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF).

What we can offer

Boiler house equipment and controls to maximise the efficiency of the steam system.

Feedwater treatment and storage systems
Chemical dosing
Pressure and temperature control systems
Heat exchangers
Steam ancillary equipment
Service agreements

Advanced Thermal Treatment

Process

Includes the thermal treatment of Gasification and Pyrolysis where the waste is broken down under pressure. This generates a gas that can be used to generate heat and electricity.

What we can offer

Plate heat exchange packages
Steam distribution systems incorporating boiler controls, desuperheaters, pressure reduction and steam ancillary products
